Music as a Healing Process: Percy Richter

Chile-born Percy Richter released his new single 'In My Bones' on 12th February 2021. Showcasing the darker side of love, Richter's smooth, rich voice blends perfectly with the backing vocals; the instrumental and melody working in conjunction with one another to produce an addictive sound. With honest and vulnerable lyrics, Richter has used his own experience to perfectly encapsulate the potential toxicity of a romantic relationship.

"I started to create In My Bones at the beginning of the pandemic. This song speaks about complicated love; a love that is too intense, confusing, insecure and unstable, which is happening to a lot of relationships because of the unusual times that we're living in".

"It's an invitation to love and accept ourselves as we are, without judgements or negative thoughts. I think accepting ourselves as we are and understanding that everything is the way it is to make us the people that we are today. We need to love ourselves and realise that we should be with someone who loves, cares and accepts us, flaws and all. When you have a bad experience, you need to take the best from that and realise that there's a reason for everything. In my case, my music is like a healing process".

Since the release of his debut single, 'Danger', Richter has been focusing on developing his skills as a musician; attending weekly vocal, guitar and expression lessons in order to feel more prepared as an artist.

With the ongoing pandemic causing cancellations to previously booked gigs, his main goal is to perform in London and continue sharing his music.

"I haven't had very many chances [to perform] because of the pandemic, only two gigs. I want to show my music to the U.K, and then go to my country again to present myself there".

'In My Bones' is the precursor to Richter's upcoming EP, which will be released later this year.
